The Children’s Hospital - Served on the hospital’s development committee for 5 years and was named as the Auction Chair for the hospital’s annual Gala. Created new and meaningful areas of donations by launching a “Pay it Forward” program to allow gala attendees to give back by purchasing items that hospital patients needed, such as car seats, bike helmets and new books for the infectious disease unit. That year, the auction generated $924,670 in revenue.
The Denver Zoo - Served on the marketing committee for 3 years and was asked to chair the annual event, the “Do at the Zoo.” Event attendance was declining, thus expanded the venue, created a “Jammin’ in the Jungle” theme, incorporated Indian and Asian design elements and sent Lion and Zebra-clad street teams to promote the event. More than 3,000 people attended and reinvigorated one of Denver’s favorite summer parties and raised more than an $1.2 million to support the zoo’s new exhibit “Asian Tropics”.
CauseBeats - Volunteered to manage omni channel marketing strategies and programs. Created social cause campaigns for artists and worked with their agencies to integrate mobile giving during tours.
Appointed as President of CauseBeats and was responsible for connecting established recording artists, fans and nonprofits to causes with a mission to fundamentally change the face of philanthropy in the music industry.
Mile High Parents - Participated on a team that launched the Mile High Parents program to celebrate and encourage Denver Public School parents to spend 5,280 minutes a school year (30 minutes a day) to engage with their children and support their educational development.
“It’s great day when you can look back at all of the work that’s been achieved in a few months. It’s an exceptional day when you can celebrate your team’s accomplishments, while shamelessly promoting what an extraordinary marketing team we are.” - Kirsten Hamling
5 Reasons I Love Marketing
To kick this thing off, let’s take a look at few of my favorite things. From outbound marketing and inbound marketing, to cool tech, branding data analytics and social media.
1. It’s is Engaging
#Marketing allows a brand to connect and interact with customers and now especially with social media, this can be done in real-time.
2. It’s Evolving
It’s never boring! From social media to blogs and mobile apps, marketing has come a long way since flyers and business cards.
3. It’s Entertaining
Marketing allows a brand to ‘let its hair down’ and show a softer, funnier, relatable side to its customers.
4. It’s Empowering
How else can a brand show-off what they can do? Marketing done right can introduce millions of people to your business.
5. It’s Exciting
Marketing campaigns everywhere are pushing the envelope and inventing new rules for marketers everywhere.
